Delhi Air Quality Remains ‘Severe’, Schools to Go Online

Delhi’s air quality deteriorated to the ‘Severe’ category on Monday with the Air Quality Index (AQI) crossing the 400 mark in several parts of the city, prompting authorities to announce emergency measures including shifting schools to online mode.

The Delhi government invoked the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) Stage 4 measures, which include a ban on construction activities, restrictions on the entry of trucks into the city, and odd-even vehicle rationing.

Health Advisory

The Delhi government has issued a health advisory urging residents to stay indoors, wear N95 masks when going outside, and avoid outdoor exercise. Hospitals have reported a significant increase in patients with respiratory complaints.
